Fun but disorganized

Pros

Teaching adults is fun and challenging. Instructors care about their classes. GA provides a nice work space and all the necessary little perks (coffee/tables/couches) for getting work done outside of class.

Cons

Operations are unbelievably disorganized. Curriculum development for new classes is a joke - they give you "class materials" that contain almost none of the relevant information and need to be completely re-written before they're fit for teaching. Accounting department is an embarrassment - at various points, they've managed to either fail to pay or double-pay myself and some of my colleagues.

Pros

there are tons of great people who work here who really want to do good work. they are kind and passionate and sincere.

Cons

really poor work/life balance: tons of pressure without adequate support. non-competitive salaries. incredibly high turnover. no institutional memory. people just get worked to the bone, and burn out and leave. there is little to no training, and this is just not sustainable.
