Pros

Minimal pros to say, except maybe the discounts on their cheap bad made clothing?

Cons

I have worked both in store and in the Alexandria support office and both were terrible experiences. -GP just went through a round of redundancies and big company changes in their support office because there is no strategic direction or planning. The company seems more like a childcare or school setting it is very cliquey and 'young'. Expect to be in meetings using the words 'lit, fam and cool beans' which if you talk like that I guess that is a good thing, but for a group of 30-40 year olds talking about business and using the word lit over 100 times it was very annoying. -Extremely unsupportive company culture, you will be thrown in the deep end with no training or induction other than filling out and signing a few forms. You will be expected to teach yourself everything and attend all social events which sounds exciting until you find yourself working until 8pm every night, going to weekly parties and trying to maintain your own personal social life. -Salaries are terrible amongst everyone in the store and support office, don't expect to earn more than $50-55k as a Store Manager and $65-70k max to work in Bondi Junction or George St, Managers there are paid the highest but are put under the most pressure with constant store visits from the office and scrutiny over sales all the time. You will also never get an annual pay review/pay rise there is always a justification as to why you don't deserve one. -Sales have not been on target for months so again don't expect to be getting any bonuses or commission that is promised to you during your interview. -Promotions are super rare, the process is generally X person leaves, role is vacant for 3 months because no one wants to work for GP anymore, the role is then offered to the person who has been doing the job for months without any recognition or extra pay. You will work hard at GP, much harder than any other retailer I have worked for before. -The current CEO is also stepping down following Metalicus going into liquidation, poor sales, redundancies, high staff turnover. The new 'leadership' team selected is another poor choice and won't do the business any better than what they're currently doing. -HR are extremely unsupportive and there is one rule for them and one for us. If you have a problem do not expect it resolved or even listened to by HR, if you are seen as causing a slight problem be warned that you will be dragged through the mud by them. -The open plan office is also distracting, it's an ugly environment with no parking everyone in the office moves their car every 2-3 hours constantly looking for a new parking spot as it's far from public transport and doesn't want to pay for any staff parking.
