Pros
I was fortunate to work at a good Railroad that was built strong before gwrr took over. I recieved some great training and helped me to advance my career beyond gwrr. It seemed upper management had a great view and work ethic but on the flip side it didn't reach the local level in most cases. They have some great employees to be able to put up with that much BS day in and day out.
Cons
Pay is sub-par, I'm making almost double with less responsibility now. Upper corporate views seems to get filtered and changed by regional corporate management and in my experience (Pacific Region) for the worst by the time it reaches local. I herd a lot of talk about walking the talk but never actually saw it. Bad moral due lots of talk and not backing it up. They don't seem to invest much money into the infrastructure. GWRR wants to be like a class 1 railroad but only has a shortline budget, which can send some mixed signals.
