Office of the CIO

Pros

Still several Interactive Intelligence employees around, but they are leaving fast! Work from home is allowed. On-site Cafe On-site Gym

Cons

Office of the CIO??? Maybe it should be called the travel office. Every conversation you have with the CIO, who also manages facilities, is about his latest travels on the company dime. If you want to run facilities and travel the globe great do that, but this company needs a real CIO. The other part you will get from our CIO is his stories about how he kicked HP Global Services out of Genesys. Telling them not to show up in his office in a suit and tie again, wear jeans and a polo shirt. Mr. CIO, be respectful, that is what a vendor is doing when they show up in a tie. Also, take ownership for your department. Stop pushing all of the complaints that are geared directly at you, to your low level supervisors and telling them it is their problem to solve. Working down to the VP/Sr. Director level. Wow, you guys are worse. Anytime an employees wants to meet with you to discuss an issue, you interrupt them to ask why can't you just get on board with the program. We would, if you had a program. But the only program you have is always saying yes to other parts of the business no matter what the request is. Also, it is OK to fail. As a matter of fact you have to fail in order to succeed, it is kind of like good and evil. One cannot live without the other. When anyone fails everyone has a look of terror on their faces as if someone is getting fired. Stop directing from fear, people don’t respect it. They fear it! When Don Brown was at the helm, we did not only fail from time to time but we were expected to fail. That was one of the only ways to truly learn what worked and what doesn’t. The managers and supervisor are currently the only thing holding this department together. They continue to take the beatings from employees and upper management caught in the middle. My hat goes off to you guys keep up the good work and don’t leave us. I am not sure what can be done to fix this department, but I know that it starts at the CIO and VP level.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comprehensive comments. Our IT and facilities teams are service organizations, providing both services and infrastructure support for our employees -- as such, there is always something happening, whether it’s a new IT deployment or facility project somewhere in the world. Ensuring the success of these efforts often requires in-person interaction, and as a company with employees and operations around the globe, travel tends to be a natural outcome for each of our Genesys senior leaders. Post integration, I have heard the concerns raised by this team and I have responded with a variety of activities. For example, we are establishing a management training program for this group, and we recently created across location employee committee to help improve our understanding of and attention to team morale. We also recently launched a department newsletter to share information across the team, which has received positive feedback. I appreciate your continuing to assume best intentions, working proactively with me and our department leads together on continuing to make this a great place to work. I firmly believe in an open-door policy so I would be delighted to speak with you or others about any concerns or suggestions you may have. Thank you again for posting. -- Jeffrey Haslem, CIO/Chief Information Officer

Not Looking to Good

Pros

Good hleathcare and 401k Plan. Really like working with my manager and team lead.

Cons

Genesys does not seem to want to properly compensate it's employees. I know how much my department is bringing in, in profit, for the company and Genesys does not share the wealth. Raises are only 3% (aka only keeping up with inflation) and they foster bad competition among peers by making so that if your fellow team member is getting 4% raise you will only get 2%. It gets to a point that you are paying them to work for them. The sad part of all of this is, is that it is super easy for them (management) to properly compensate thier most valuable asset. 1% of the profit generated from the department I work in would more than suffice to give everyone a proper raise. Please note that this is "Profit" meaning that normal expenses including the current payroll is already accounted for before profit is tallied. We bring in millions and a few 100 thousand is all that is needed to give raises to all employees. They just don't want to give us (their workers) proper compensation.

As the leader for all global compensation programs, I can assure you that at Genesys we do everything we can to create compensation programs that are both fair and competitive. We budget for salary increases by country based on the market trends for salary increases in each respective country, and we encourage managers to consider a number of factors in awarding compensation increases, including individual performance and the individual’s compensation relative to the external market. While we do provide budgetary guidance to managers, we make specific efforts to be flexible on budgets so that managers can consider awarding the compensation increases that they believe are the most fair for their teams. We do this because we feel strongly that compensation needs to be competitive in order to recognize our extraordinary talent. If you have concerns about your own compensation or our compensation philosophy, I encourage you to set up some time to do so with your manager, your HR partner, or me. Best, Rob (Robert Coleman, VP, Compensation, Benefits & HRIS)

Pros

Absolutely none and that is not being facetious. I cannot think of one good thing except the base salary.

Cons

Everything. It would take me pages to write. I went there for the salary and a HUGE mistake. Don't make the same mistake I did.
