Pros

State of the art tech stack Great people. Great office culture Competitive starting pay

Cons

Recent salary freezes, and still trying to hire new people despite that. Feels like they are trying to recycle expensive talent and get more devs on the cheap (speculation). Raises are not what they need to be. Raise pool system feels dirty. For me to win someone I know and care about has to have a lackluster year. Feeling that the private investors in the company don't care about the employees. They only care about the bottom-line. Preemptively punishing the employees to play it safe during tough times (where our business will likely do well) is not becoming of a tech company.

Pros

Stable company, industry leader. Its a big company so the positions are generally pretty safe as long as you are a hard worker. Insurance plans are nice, open PTO can be good and bad.

Cons

Only care about the bottom line, not the people. Management tries to create an atmosphere where employees can feel community or have events but its generally shuttered. Pay raises are minimal, moving around the company or leaving is really the only way to advance. Standard silicon valley company.

Pros

Benefits are good. Comp is ok. Need to do a better job recognizing key performers. The engineering talent is very good. The VP of my group is a genius.

Cons

The pay on my team has fallen behind and my employees are getting calls from larger companies for large increases. It makes others on the team curious. I spoke with HR about it and they said they are working on some things for 2019. The HR people are really nice, but we don't see changes happening soon enough. The company seems to be performing well, but the direction of my product group is unclear. We want to grow, but spirits are not high.

Genesys Response

Thank you for your thoughtful and constructive review. Our people are what makes Genesys great, and of course, we don’t want to lose our greatest talent to other companies. We regularly evaluate our compensation strategies and adjust accordingly where we think we need to. I encourage you to engage directly with your (brilliant!) VP on your concerns about direction as well as compensation if you haven’t already. Samantha and John should also be able to work with you on the latter topic - like you, they are based in Indy. You should also feel free to set up time with me directly if you want to talk. Best, Tracy (Tracy Cote, Chief People Officer)
