Pros

Promising technology based on prior acquisition.

Cons

Management is playing just the financial angle. Even if still well positioned in the Gartner quadrant, the executives have little understanding of the technological aspects.

Bloated management, distracted focus

Pros

Easy to work remotely, good salary, interesting work (until last 6 months). Given lots of latitude to do your job, no micromanaging.

Cons

Extremely bloated management. Every other day you get a company-wide email announcing yet another new VP of some new made-up department. Company also can't decide on a focus. You don't have time to get used to one goal-setting system or team structure before it's changed 2 weeks later. Don't get comfortable on your team because you'll have 3 different managers in 4 months.

Thank you for your review. I’m glad you found the work here compelling during (most of) your tenure here. As with any growing company with many mergers and acquisitions, org changes will happen and new leaders will come on board. As so many of our employees appreciate the work/life flexibility we try to support, a point you noted as a positive, we also appreciate it when our team members are flexible in terms of supporting the company and their coworkers through the changes we are driving as we continue to scale. Best of luck to you in your new endeavors, and remember, as Winston Churchill wisely noted, “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” Best, Tracy (Tracy Cote, Chief People Officer)

Stay Away from Finance

Pros

Some corporate activities are fun to participate in and, depending wildly on what group you're in, management can either be micro-managing or non-existent.

Cons

Detached management, aggressive policies, yearly increases are almost non-existent, and almost no ability to voice concerns without blow back from management.

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts. Genesys is committed to listening to our employees and creating an environment in which leaders are accessible and employees are empowered to take risks and offer ideas that help drive the company forward. We believe this is the special sauce of world-class organizations. Our site leaders come together regularly and participate actively in open door sessions with the aim of making Genesys a great place to work. There are great opportunities in this growing company to develop a career in finance. We have many new employees and leaders who have joined my team in the last several months to be part of our growth and transformational efforts. I see you’ve moved on, but I’d like to say thanks for your contributions during a time of change. Best of luck in your future endeavors, Steve (Steve Sharlow, Vice President, Finance Shared Services)
