Pros

In the few years I have been able to work at Interactive Intelligence/Genesys I have met some of the smartest people in my life. Not only are the people who work here incredibly intelligent, they are also kind and helpful to each other. Genesys is not afraid to let employees have the chance to prove themselves outside of their job requirements. Desperate for a new tool to make your life easier? Go ahead and build something awesome. I have grown so much because of this attitude and I believe it has made me a much more well-rounded employee. Open time off is amazing. I'm also given the flexibility to work at home whenever necessary. I never realized the peace of mind OTO would allow until it was enacted here. I love that we are on the cutting edge (or close to it) of technology and architecture. It means I'm actually learning new tools and ways to do things. I enjoy the benefits that come with actively-developed tech. My coworkers take work/life balance seriously and that seems to be a healthy way to live. There's always more work to be done, you only get one life, might as well enjoy your time off work. That being said, I look forward to Mondays. The challenges are fun and the technology is fresh. People are passionate about what they do and it shows.

Cons

The pay is not the reason I stay at this company. It's not bad, for the area its about average I suppose but I did list it as a con, so take that as you will. Management direction is not always clear and can change weekly. Usually not large changes, but enough to keep me bumping between tasks. Promotions may take years to happen after you've fulfilled the requirements. Management is bad at setting clear goals for career growth. In fact, management changes the job description every few months it seems. Cloak-and-dagger firings/layoffs have happened several times this year. I don't know how common this is at other companies but I find it weird. When company structure is changing there is not much communication on what will happen to those of us doing the grunt work. Will your department exist tomorrow? Who knows. Quality varies quite a bit between teams. This means that you will end up cleaning up the mess that other teams leave because they're "not required to do that thing," etc. It's a terrible excuse but that's what happens when management has no idea what is really happening on the ground floor.
