Pros

Pay, for the location. Cafe. Facilities/IT - The facilities are nice and IT manages to supply employees with the equipment they need easily.

Cons

Obviously this doesn't apply to most situations at Genesys. It's hard to say what the company looks like from an internal perspective. From the perspective of an employee working for a newly acquired company who [reviously had a solid vision and increcredibly high employee morale, Genesys fails to live up to every expectation set by executive leadership. Leadership consistently demonstrates no real understanding of how to "lead", as well as a complete failure communication with their employees on company vision and outlook for the future of the acquired company. The same message that is pitched to shareholders/investors doesn't work internally when messages don't align. If you are a developer who is applying for a position here, expect to be relegated to nearly full time support duties, with development tasks occupying a space outside of your workday, or being outsourced to Asia. As it stands now, previous ININ customers are not getting the support they pay for, employee morale is low, and I must imagine that several companies under support contracts are demanding refunds or considering lawsuits against Genesys for failing to meet contractual requirements.

We always encourage and appreciate feedback on Glassdoor, and I appreciate your taking the time to write. I am not sure how to respond to all of your concerns as I really don’t agree with or even truly understand where most of this is coming from. I sincerely hope that our current employees feel comfortable approaching the appropriate management person with any concerns along these lines so that we can address them. I see that you have left the company; I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Best, Tracy ...Tracy Cote, Chief People Officer

Pros

As Genesys, we make a lot more money than ININ did.

Cons

Genesys leadership doesn't care about PureCloud or Development in the slightest. Most of us get left out of events, and we aren't even in the CTO organization, which feels like it's so they can easily drop us on a whim. This company only cares about sales people. When we did our review of the quarter, the President spoke about the concerns, and they were only concerns that the sales team had. They care about Sales so much, that they exclude the people building the products. A lot of employees went to the Sales Kick-Off that featured "champagne breaks" and $100,000 giveaways, and everyone who wasn't invited was told to watch the streams; I don't want to hear all of the great perks Sales is getting when R&D can't even get staffing or compensation that they need. There have been several layoffs, and some teams are already too small; compensation was capped very low compared to ININ historically, so if you are underpaid compared to your team, your manager has to take from others to give to you, and even still can't get you to where you should be. There are entire teams of experienced R&D employees in the Indy office making less than anybody at any other location in the US. We also lost everything that made ININ feel like a great place to work; people just aren't happy any more.

I can tell you, first hand, that our leadership cares very much about PureCloud. I’ve seen the plans to heavily invest in our bright future and couldn’t be more optimistic. I was personally involved in many of the discussions about how best to structure R&D and our leadership was extremely thorough and purely focused on the best possible outcome. It is true that the sales kick-off was oriented towards recognizing and celebrating sellers. To recognize and celebrate our R&D team, we conducted a similar event (DevOps Days) in San Francisco, where over 700 developers participated. Our CEO and senior leaders were present at the event and we are planning for a bigger presence next year. Integrations are always a difficult time with lots of anxiety and uncertainty, so I do understand. I’m convinced that Genesys is committed to innovating and creating the best environment for top talent. We simply have to communicate and work together to make this happen. My door is always open for anyone who wants to discuss concerns directly. -- Robert Ritchy, SVP, PureCloud Development
