Pros

The people are great! Lots of very bright people from all over the world. The company is growing at quantum speed so the opportunities are excellent. It's fun to be a part of a growing company because you are exposed to so much and, depending on your effort, can really learn and grow yourself. The company is also open to working remotely which is great!

Cons

Because the company is growing so quickly, there are many growing pains and transformation issues. Some are easy to deal with and others are not.

Pros

Genesys is the contact center market leader. In recent years Genesys has increased it's leadership in large part because competitors have imploded or taken their focus away from the contact center space. When you work for a leader you are afforded additional leniency than others in the marketplace. As a leader I also believe that Genesys has a good chance to succeed in spite of itself. Most of the executives are aware of the challenges and will acknowledge them.

Cons

Culture. Genesys does not have an empowering culture therefore change is extremely challenging. Like many software companies Genesys suffers from a NIH mentality and causes significant barriers to innovation. Many of these cultural challenges are highlighted with the cloud solution. There level of organizational silos, bureaucracy and latency which are unacceptable for the company maintain a leadership position. This has been little movement in this areas despite the One Genesys initiative. Changing a 20 year culture is not any easy task. Genesys is suffering through the same challenges as many prior industry leaders. At present I'm not sure what the outcome will be.

Thanks for your feedback. I acknowledge that change is difficult, and I am extremely proud of how rapidly Genesys has evolved, successfully responding to a rapidly changing competitive landscape as we move into the cloud. Our strategy is to invest internally and also to go outside. In the case of cloud, we are leveraging many long time employees, but we have also gone outside for talent and have acquired over a dozen companies as you probably know. I for one am confident that we will continue to be the leading provider of contact center and customer engagement solutions. If you have not escalated some of your more tactical concerns internally to me or your management, I recommend you consider doing so. Thanks again for taking time to share your thoughts. Pros

Competitive benefits package and company provided cell phone. Those are probably the only good things I can think of with my experience so far.

Cons

Where do I begin? The facility is dark, dismal, dirty, and depressing. Their software development process is archaic and bureaucratic, which makes it abundantly clear why nothing ever gets done. The Dell laptops we're supposed to work on are big, bulky, sluggish, cheap, and look awful, then to add insult to injury they have it running Windows 7. Most places would give you a choice of laptops and Operating System preferences regardless of what OS the product primarily uses. This company does everything as a one size fits all and does not at all care about the happiness of their employees. They are so cheap with everything they do, it'll make you feel dispensable and undervalued, while cutting expenses to a pathetic degree. Since EcoPass was acquired there has been so much resentment and mistrust that it is unavoidable, it's almost like watching step siblings being forced to get along when the parents are playing favorites. Politics are at the core of Genesys culture which makes getting anything done outside your team sometimes nerve racking and often frustrating. The reviews of this company are completely contrary to who they really are. Right when you walk in the door, you can feel that the spirit of ambition has died long ago. I highly recommend you reconsider working here, especially because of their deceptive reviews. This company destroys dreams, wrecks innovation, and discourages ambition. All you will get from them is frustration, depression, then apathy.
