      very disappointing leadership at top heavy org

      Pros

      Sustainability seems to be a real commitment (not performative).

      Cons

      Lack of clarity around strategic goals and priorities. Top heavy org where few folks get promoted. Some people managers don't want to actually lead people. Toxic managers and environments get overlooked. Managers who lack competence in their area gets overlooked.

      If so great, when are you going public?

      Pros

      You get to build and work on interesting technology in a very boring industry. But the tech is worthwhile on its own.

      Cons

      Really horrible upper management. Simply can't get out of its own way. If the company is on such a great trajectory, why can't it seem to go public? It jettisoned the only part of the company that set itself apart of all its competitors. Now it has an undifferentiated offering. But because that offering is perpetual revenue, they push it for the sake of an IPO. It looks good on the balance sheets. And yet here they are, still privately held, still underperforming on their potential, just waiting for other companies to catch up.

      Unlimited PTO, remote work for some roles, decent work/life balance

      Cons

      Their branding claims they sell Empathy-as-a-service, but there's no substance to that. There's no actual work being put in to create an empathetic culture for employees. C-suite leaders surround themselves with "yes" people, and refuse to listen to any other voices. If anyone tries to point out an opportunity for improvement, they just disappear from the company.
