Pros

Undoubtedly, Genesys have many positive sides: It is definitely the interesting place to work. Regular employees have opportunities to try their skills in many contemporary and fancy IT areas. Some managers/teamleads encourage your desire to learn new things. Moreover, it is possible to get a compensation for professional courses and certificate exams. Diverse teams with many great and friendly people. You have to be ready to meet new friends. Modern and comfortable offices, at least, which I have visited. Medical insurance isn’t bad, from my perspective. Foreign trips happen.

Cons

Firstly, it is absolutely impossible to predict the next move of top managers. Sometimes, on a regular team meeting, you hear that the company is super profitable; the other day, you figure out that some of your high-qualified and experienced colleagues were laid off and replaced by “fresh blood” from a cheap region. Secondly, salaries. If you are looking for a high salary or expecting to earn more in couple years then keep looking; Genesys is not for you, my friend. Salaries of senior specialists are below by ~30% than you can find in other companies in this area. This policy resulted in quitting of many talented people for the last year. The funny thing is that the managers seem to ignore this fact. Not to mention the annual salary change, which is lower than the growing cost of living.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Work life balance is good. I work 30-40 hours per week and leave my work at work at the end of the day.

Cons

The organization is a complete mess. They are in the process of moving entire teams overseas because (in their words) "they can get 5 employees for the price of 1 US employee." US teams are being systematically taken apart and then positions are being refilled in India and the Philippines. The company is cutting too many corners in this process in an effort to squeeze out more margin. The end result is that those who are left are continually frustrated, along with our customers. I deal with more upset customers on a daily basis, I can't even recall the last time I spoke to a satisfied customer.

Thank you for your review. Genesys is a global organization and we hire people around the world – this is a competitive advantage and we are proud of the great work our global teams perform. It’s great that you feel you can effectively manage your full-time job in 30 hours a week and therefore have admirable work life balance. If you have suggestions about improving customer or employee satisfaction, I recommend you reach out to your manager or HR partner to have an open and honest discussion. Best, Tracy (Tracy Cote;, Chief People Officer)
