Pros

Training in Google Marketing products, including AdWords and Google My Business.

Cons

The Farmington Hills, MI location has no long-term or short-term operations plans. The only plan is day-to-day chaotic movement of phone staff employees. There’s never a real explanation for the move. Management and Team Lead will lie to you and put no effort into sounding believable. Management has no respect for phone staff and expect you to just be flexible. Management and Team Leads only concerns are the daily metrics. The metrics seem impossible to reach and not sure if they are real. Blame the other Guy is the name of the game here. The hourly pay is on the bottom of industry average. Monthly bonus (if you ever get one) is not enough to have a great meal out. Do not believe anything that you are told in the interview. Recent college grads if you are searching for a mentor, you will not find one here. You can earn more money and advance your career as many other companies in the Farmington Hills, MI area. Do not waste your time and energy.

Pros

Working for Genpact Solutions Inc. in Cincinnati, OH is as close to being and independent contractor as you can get without having your own LLC. To be successful at this company you have to manage your own time and priorities wisely. As long as you keep the customer (GE) happy, Genpact is happy. A healthy work life balance is very achievable here. Vacation benefits are above avg at 3 weeks / year. Health & Dental insurance are just OK. After proving my capabilities for the first year, Genpact and I came to an agreement that allowed me to stay full time at 32 hours / week, while attending night school to finish my Bachelors Degree. This took 2.5 years to complete. I'm very grateful to Genpact for supporting this endeavor. Management has always had my back in times of conflict or uncertainty with other co-workers and/or tough market conditions (lay-offs, etc.). They are also supportive in my life goals outside of work.

Cons

Low Pay. Genpact does not understand market value of an experienced engineer and/or industry standards in regards to salary. I am $15k-$25k below a competitive industry standard salary for the type of work I do, experience, and skill set. Part of this is likely my fault for not fully understanding my own worth when I signed on with Genpact 4 years ago. I have not had a single raise in those 4 years although I have been asking for over 2 years. I have been identified as a "top performer" in every performance review, have earned 2 achievement awards over the years, and have many written emails from the customer expressing accolades for my work. So, my lack of raise is NOT because I am underperforming. Having lots of freedom and independence is great, as mentioned in the Pros section. But keep in mind this also means that management is somewhat disconnected from what you do. They, along with HR, can sometimes be slow to respond to inquiries and requests - especially if it has anything to do with money.
