Pros

- incredible work environment, people are kind and actually care about you. It really makes a difference working in a Christian/Christian-friendly culture. Much better than the corporate world where no one cares about anyone but themselves, definitely not the case here. - tuition remission (although I wont be using it) - very low stress environment. phenomenal work/life balance. Its a university, there's not much pressure to be going above and beyond because thats just not how its run. Its technically a business, but its no where near cut throat like the corporate world. - top down people seem to be fairly transparent. they have monthly all-employee meetings and lunches. Communication about whats going on is pretty good, but not great. - its really fulfilling and fun to invest in the students, especially the work study students. its exciting to be around bright-eyed and hopeful young adults, and invest in them so they go and make a difference in this world.

Cons

- i get paid just enough to live, but inflation has made it so difficult. and im told their COL adjustments are only about 3%, IF they even get one. So you truly cant expect to get paid well. and because of this, there is a LOT of turnover. if you work here, you need to have a good reason to besides getting paid well. For me, i need the experience since i switched careers. - each department is run pretty differently, and the communication and processes between each does not mix well. So there are issues that arise because of that, which makes it difficult to serve each other well. - you're forced to contribute to your retirement, and you have a year until that kicks in. I have to opt out, otherwise I cant afford my bills. so when that kicks in and if they dont adjust my pay, I will have to find another job. - there's no room for career advancement. you get one role and thats it. no moving up really unless people retire.

Pros

GFU has a serious heart problem. It is filled with power hungry, world seekers. They perform and posture as Christians but there is no Christ in their lives.

Cons

There is a serious need to get rid of all of the leadership (including those who have ‘retired’ from their leadership positions to serve in new, lower capacities. They need to start fresh.
