      Great for alumni. Poor transparency. Less mobility for outsiders.

      Pros

      Great availability to go back to school (This is touted as a major benefit). Many departments have a good work-life balance. Some departments seem to have happy employees.

      Cons

      Low pay for non-executives. They say they pay more than other local universities, but that's not much. Don't expect to get paid nearly what you would in the corporate world. Horrible transparency. Seems to be plenty of "sweeping under the rug" of problems, and problems with middle management. I overheard an AVP saying "everyone is replaceable". While this might be true, it sure doesn't inspire confidence.

      Pros

      My immediate supervisors were very supportive of my work within my department; always laid back, but professional.

      Cons

      Overall values of the school seemed to be changing when I graduated in 2013, and that made working there difficult as we had to change our mentality and the way that we did things. Seemed to be a disconnect between what the students wanted and the new direction of the administration

      Pros

      The best reason to work here are the people. The atmosphere is very open and collegiate. The vacation and sick leave benefits are very high.

      Cons

      My challenge of working here is the position I am in, and the opportunity for growth. I've been with GW for 7 years, I've learned a lot but I want to move to another space where I can continue to grow and provide my skills and experience to make a positive impact on another institution
