      Pros

      The edu-benefits are amazing and I've worked with some really fabulous people who want to have an impact on the student body. Engaging faculty and staff. Great location with access to and collaboration between many departments

      Cons

      Like the city it's based in, it can take a lot of politicking to get anything done. Some folks have been at the university for ages and can be adverse to change

      If you don't have a PhD, be prepared for the academic caste system.

      Pros

      Great retirement benefits. Employer matches up to 10 percent. The professional culture can be great in some schools/divisions, less so in others.

      Cons

      Staff don't have much of a voice to the administration. If you work in a school or division where the leadership is responsive, you are golden. If not, it can be challenging.
