Pros

Work from home and thats it

Cons

You'll be working 7 days a week till 10-11 pm daily and expected to be available 24/7. Zero respect for work home balance. You work 8 to 5 pm for less money then any other school and the workload is completely unmanageable......think 7 or more meetings a week and a 5 block teaching schedule. Every mistake is recorded and everyone stabs everyone in the back. Terrible work atmosphere and that starts with the terrible head of school. She doesn't give a ×××÷ about what the teachers say. There's less flexibility at this school then any I've worked at. You're home but don't expect to spend time with your family. You're constantly set up to fail. The turn over at GCA is higher then 50% for a reason. There's a reason their teachers start and leave constantly. The amount of stress they keep above you isn't worth working from home. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Pros

Can teach from anywhere for the most part.

Cons

Pay is insulting - I am making over $20,000 more by being back in BAM. The workload is nothing like BAM. They expect you to be available 24 hours a day. My family paid the results of this horrid place. The leadership is all about who they know or who they like. People are placed in leadership roles all due to who they are friends with. It is essentially a sweat factory. They could care less about employees. We were told daily, "The grass isn't greener. You can find another job." Testing is insane. You leave home for weeks to test students. I question many ethical choices they made as well If you, as a teacher, value your degree and certification - RUN from this school. The Charter Commission needs to shut them down.
