Pros

A wide variety of technical applications to broaden hands on experience of entry level technicians.

Cons

From the management to the smoke and mirror union in place and every step in between, a constant and poisonous culture thrives ever vigilant in it's quest to identify, publicize and manipulate any perceived (or in most cases completely imagined) misstep in order to allow the slimy and misguided fungal folk to squeeze out each and every insignificant and trivial "step up." These lurkers in the background, observers of life in general operate under the notion of some folktale, more superior position within the company; when, tragically (and painfully obvious to most functioning adults) the damage caused by their cowardly and shameful behavior is not only eroding away the professional lives of their victims but their own as well.

Pros

- Average benefits when compared to others process safety jobs in industry

Cons

- Salaries are not competitive with the rest of industry for the process safety engineer skill set - Work culture is very localized - Management does not seem to trust employees - Lacks diversity in leadership (no women or individuals of color) - Revolving door for talent; low retention of young employees - Poor job of matching talent with position role & responsibility needs - When a business unit says you'll be on call over the weekend, expect to work 90% of your on-call weekends since the leadership does not make financial decisions in a timely manner in order to address the recurring issues that come up on the weekends
