Pros

GSU offers a strong community base within the humanities (my only experience; other departments/schools may be different). Faculty is supportive of students and fellow faculty/staff members.

Cons

Upper-level admin can work in mysterious ways but local department/school admin seem to try to balance that out (getting info, passing it along, advocating for students/faculty/staff at all levels). Big school, big city--easy to become a number if you're not careful.

Pros

Great place to work part time if you're a student. They will accommodate your hours according to your school schedule.

Cons

Like any employment, there are a lot of bureaucracies at play and things never get done like it's suppose to. Most of the issues are above supervisor or even management.

Pros

Students are great, Faculty try to be helpful and are nice people. Sense of helping out the students and doing good work considering the U can not afford to hire real professors to teach anymore.

Cons

All the money went into pork barrell and administration so there's no opportunity for full time faculty postions
