Pros

Well-known company across the industry. Some very talented people. Interesting projects. Able to collaborate with other offices.

Cons

1. Very dated, very antique technology-I mean using templates created in 2005 antique. Also, the entire timecard system is disgusting to navigate. 2. Non-existing office culture. The office is so dead. Usually nobody is there except the junior staff, difficult to grow and network. 3. Strong emphasis on billable hours, disregarding employee's personal life. I have gotten phone calls at 10:00 PM telling me to fix something ASAP when the project is not due in another week. Very high pressure to be 100% billable. 4. High turnover rate for junior staff. Plenty of junior staff leave within the first 2 years. You really have to disregard all your personal life if you want to climb that corporate ladder. 5. Top heavy management. Useless HR. 6. Long and potentially dangerous fieldwork. Ironically Geosyntec emphasis so much on safety but at least I do not see they actively practice it in real life. This might depend on office locations but I've done fieldwork (nightshift) for 2 weeks straight in another state without any break. Sometimes they only budget for 1 person for 1 day when the scope definitely requires 2 people or more. Upper management ate the budget, then the junior staff has to struggle.

Pros

Hybrid Some good people Benefits - especially health insurance

Cons

Some bad people - look down upon those without masters degrees or certain schools. Lots of travel and field work outside. Dealing with older construction guys. Sexism. Will send an experienced male to a sight and take credit for all your work. Work is competitive, people will hoard it for billable hours, including your manager.

Pros

Growth at the time Good pay at the time Good bonuses at the time

Cons

I was fired from this position due to some issues that were brought up that the staff complained about. The funny thing is, everything I was accused of, was supported and driven by upper management. I was very much micromanaged to the point that if I left the office for any point during the day, my cell phone would ring nonstop. I was asked to spy on employees, provide feedback for everyone that worked for me so that management can continually keep their thumb over everybody. I was very good at my job, but I spent more time tracking people and reporting every little thing to upper management that I started to lose my mind. Very disappointing. But the joke was on me. Honestly, the day that I got fired and was escorted out of the office, was a huge weight off of my shoulders. And now, five years later, they are still having the same issues because I have kept in touch with some of the employees. They loved to point fingers and take no responsibility. Nothing like having an upper management senior principal/branch manager call you at 7 AM in the morning and asked to provide a list as to what time his managers and field team entered the office and how often I saw them taking breaks. Again, I was like their puppet, and the joke was on me but I won in the end ! And by reading these reviews, I can see that not much has changed in the past five years
