Pros

Employees are great to work with; opportunities are there to work from home; decent pay and benefits; great educational reimbursement for life insurance related coursework

Cons

No advancement unless you are on the inside; stagnant/stale management; leadership afraid of truly qualified people and ideas; it often feels like management just placates; no clear path to advance; the educational courses are not useful; culture of "false positivity" that employees are forced to adopt or fear retaliation; too much pressure on sales outside of the sales team

Pros

You will get a slightly above range pay, which will still be lower than the industry.

Cons

Based on experience with Gerber, I have decided to forego pursuing opportunities within the insurance industry. Unfortunately, due to lack of experience and nepotism, individuals within this company engage in cutthroat tactics and attempt to drain their colleagues' even before a working relationship has been established. I have seen it all. As a result, I am going to seek out more positive and productive working environments. Kindness, Humility and Respect. Something I didn't get from this experience whatsoever. Instead I was treated with Cruelty, Arrogance and Disrespect. I will be writing to Gerber CEO and local newspapers about how inhumane their hiring practices are and how terrible is their top management, full of lies and deceits.

Pros

Decent salary for the most part for starting wages.

Cons

Clique-ish environment of which management and supervisors participate fully. Benefits are available but very expensive and only fair coverage. Management, Supervisors and HR all allow each other and fellow employees to demoralize employees and pigeon hole them into jobs of which they are almost never going to get promoted or moved out of.
