The benefit package is comparable to other steel companies.

Cons

I was supposedly hired as a mechanical engineer but I am spending all of my time doing silly business system initiatives. There is no end to the different programs that have absolutely nothing to do with running steel. Good engineers rarely make it for two years and people who can't do anything useful jump on board with both feet.

Pros

Hard working people that do not know better. Average pay. If you do what you are told you can keep your job. If someone wakes up an really looks at what goes on they may have a chance. The best thing that could happen is a buy out.

Cons

Top mangers do not know anything about the industry. The are all connected as friends and of the family or puppets. I have never seen a stock drop so consistently and so much money wasted on crap. Middle managers are holding on by a thread. Employees are held responsible for all the local manager's mistakes. HR Department a mess.

Pros

The Pros left several years ago. Bonus structure has changed more times than the NY Yankees Roster, along with the staff. Forget the smoke , this place is on fire. Nucor is taking Gerdau's lunch and Sr. Management is lost in charts , graphs, and the world of giving managers books on how to act . Really ? What's next hiring someone to teach them how to sell in the market ?

Cons

Do the investigation for yourself. Ask how many people have gone in the recent few years...Game ,set and match.
