Abysmal lack of direction and competent leadership

Pros

People are generally pleasant but there is a pervasive culture of complacency and lack of drive. Most people come in late, do a mediocre job and leave early. If you're looking for growth and mentorship, this is not your place. If you're looking for a paycheck and work-life balance it is.

Cons

The company is constantly reinventing itself! This churn is acute at the individual contributor level and exacerbated by a largely apathetic and antiquated management team. Further, there is an utter lack of clarity around new initiatives or consensus from management on the goals and desired outcomes.

Pros

The only pro of a slow-moving company: you don't have to work that much. Just tag along and you'll be fine. Don't let them fool you by telling you that average tenure is 5 years at Getty. It's because those people can't find jobs elsewhere, and management don't crack down on poor performance. It is plus, if you are looking for somewhere to hang out for a while.

Cons

* This company sells pictures. Its business is being eaten alive by free AI-generated art that are improving by the minute. Yet, leadership doesn't know what Stable Diffusion is ?! Ignorance is not bliss in this case. * SLOW SLOW SLOW: The environment makes a 20-year-old feel like a 60-year-old. Nobody does much. People's thought are sluggish. They aren't up-to-date on new technologies (by new, I mean anything that came out within the last 5 years). * You don't learn anything here. It's a huge retirement party. This will kill your career unless you are already close to retirement. * As far as data scientists and engineers go, people who work here cannot get a job elsewhere. That's why the company has such great a "tenure" track record. * Leadership doesn't care if their business is being eaten alive everyday.

Pros

Amazing Content and Photographers. Dedicated and loyal staff.

Cons

Sr. Management is smart but clueless. Very out of touch with industry needs and trends and are often late to market with improvements or "innovations". They have completely lost their position as market leaders - they are definitely followers.
