Pros

Great health benefits, although it takes new hires longer to receive them with the new contract. Pay is OK, but not great.

Cons

Strict corporate work schedules with not much flexibility as department manager. A lot of work hours and saturdays are a must.

Pros

Customer Service is important to Giant, and they work hard at it. They do a nice job keeping the stores modern and appea;ing

Cons

Giant expects managers at all to sacrifice their personal lives as a matter of routine. Everything is always an emergency, and they often fail to use a common sense approach to solving problems. When I asked for the day off to help my wife deliver our first child, my District Manager responded with " who is having the baby, you or your wife?"
