Pros

Strong, clear mission of the organization and it's work. Leadership focus on long term goals and achievements, so they have become an internationally recognized leader in the field. Most colleagues truly dedicated, compassionate individuals who find the work very rewarding.

Cons

Middle management does not have the level of expertise to truly lead organization into the future. Many in positions over 10 years, no innovative thinking or willingness to implement new ideas. Condescending attitudes and no follow through. Employees not respected for creative ideas or recommendations to take organization to the next level.

No organization can top the success of this company, saving lives every single day. The benefits were top notch.

Cons

I have to agree with another reviewer in that, the job you go there for is the job you leave with. There is no opportunity to transfer or get on a different career path. The major challenge is the management. Management is clearly unskilled in managing and working with people but skilled in "cracking the whip" with severe micromanagement and favoritism. Most of the managers have been there a long time but the line staff continues to turn over at an alarming rate. The constant turnover was a major red flag for me, my first couple of months on the job.

Amazing opportunity to contribute. Great autonomy when your experienced. Knowledge you gain is priceless. Tight community that socializes well.

Cons

Inconsistent with protocols. Some management are cool, some are difficult to work with. Obsessed with numbers rather than process. Senior management get paid astronomical ammounts.
