Knowing that you’re helping loved ones turn a tragedy into something good. Good pay & benefits, overtime & holiday pay Good option for new grads This is really unique job that I learned a lot from and can take skills onto other settings

Cons

Schedule is grueling after a few weeks (12hr shifts, 2 days on, 2 days off and alternating weekends). Rotating 6 weeks of day/night shift was horrible for my health both physically and mentally. No work/life balance Since ERs aren’t always testing for COVID, there’s always a chance you’re bringing in an infected patient workout knowing. Shifts with higher call volume feels extremely overwhelming especially with short staffed teams. High employee turnover. Management can be very pushy at times. Not much room for upward growth Can be cliqueish
