Pros

Stable company, innovative science but successful projects are acquired from other companies - good M&A track record. It is a good name to have on resume, got a position 3 levels up in a different company of same size.

Cons

Don't think about upward or lateral promotions unless you are in a group where turnover is high and then you're promoted for even average performance every year. Management does not regard employees as assets, unless you are in the favorite list. A lot of mid level managers who have no idea what they are doing - have no autonomy and no authority. HR is a mess and of no help to employees.

Pros

The benefits are good. There are some great people working here.

Cons

The work load will burn you out quickly. Changes happen quickly, and with no warning, and it appears with no forethought from Sr management. And this company rewards bullies. I've seen people taking credit for other's work and men speak over women, then take credit for their ideas. That behavior is accepted and rewarded.

Overworked and underpayed. Backstabbing management. Accountability is a joke. No value in longterm employees. Zero loyalty. Horrible interview process, learn to have qualified interview personnel conduct you hiring process, it might help keep the riff raff out.
