      Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Since you are personally having to deal with the late nights and being on the road, you have probably thought of ways to help make that part of the job better. It would be great if you could share your ideas with your supervisor, provide those suggestions through the 24/7 suggestion system or contact HR directly and we can discuss the concerns and solutions. Recognition is certainly something we can and want to do better. We discuss this topic often and are always looking at ways to enhance the work environment. Most recently, we implemented a birthday card/gift program to recognize employees and just say thank you for being part of the GDS team. Other programs are in the works so stay tuned and share any of your ideas through the suggestion system.

      Pros

      GDS is one of the best kept secrets in Louisiana. More under the hood than any of their fellow competitors and longevity of 27 years is the foundation of the success.

      Cons

      Lots of growing pains as we go through diversification bringing on additional lines of business for cloud services and more.

      Not a technical position Management would often ignore suggestions from senior personnel. Even with ample experience, you're still treating like a Private in the military.

      Thank you for your candid feedback. Since we are a geographically dispersed organization, we have looked for ways to better obtain and act on employee suggestions. Most recently, we implemented a suggestion system that is available 24/7 to all employees via a weblink. The link has been included in the past two newsletters and is also posted on the homepage of the HR Intranet site and the payroll portal home page. On the topic of wages, we are currently in the process of conducting a market based salary study using a third party compensation analyst. We expect to have the results back and the formal plan rolled out by Q2 2015. We have some really good things coming up and will be sharing lots of information in our all company meeting in the next couple of months. Thanks again for your input.
