Pros

Hours don't seem to be above industry average, they will hire beginners

Cons

The management ethic is appalling. You don't get access to a kettle, fridge, microwave. If you want a cup of tea you have to buy it through the cafe down stairs in the subterranean bunker which is the only communal area, for a 'subsidised' price, eg about three times what a cup of tea actually costs. Disgusting offices. Pretty sure noone cleans the work areas. Horribly dark, old-fashioned, poor temperature regulated. Bizarrely temporary feel to everyone there. Nobody welcomes anyone else or even announces a new person is arriving. They just appear and get absorbed into the depressing machine. Bare minimum benefits. Mediocre pension and that's it. Became clear instantly that neither salary increase or promotion was possible. It would actually be masochistic to stay longer than the smallest amount of time necessary to get another job.

Pros

not applicable in this company

Cons

GlobalData represents everything that defines a failing business: lack of business ethics, strategy, professionalism and customer focus. Employees work in horrendous conditions in an office that often lacks heating, (hot)water and air conditioning. One only needs to see the reception area to realize that the entire building is filthy and unsanitary - the toilets being so dirty that many employees choose to go to a local coffee shop instead. Company provides no training and does not invest in its employees - don't expect to have benefits that most other reputable companies provide (you will get none here). Senior Managements is incapable of attending high profile customer meetings as they do not understand the Healthcare/Oil & Gas industries, and thus unable to hold a professional discussion.

Pros

Couldn't name a single one.

Cons

My experience with GlobalData's hiring process was in short, a complete mess. I was offered a role, then before I could sign they informed me that due to financial issues they were no longer in a position to hire anyone. I understood that, but then, more than half a year later, I was re-offered the role and reassured I was the candidate of choice and that a new offer would be sent within the week. I expected no further interviews would be needed, especially since the company had already expressed confidence in my ability to do the role. However I was made to reinterview where none of my skills/experience were even discussed. Since that waste-of-time conversation, communication became non-existent, making the process feel like games rather than a professional and communicative hiring process. The salary was also embarrassingly low, offering just a little above London living wage while still requiring lots of experience. Also, despite my requests, I was then put forward for other roles at GlobalData without consenting to it. Please take your talents and energy to a company that deserves it and wont string you along for months with silly and unprofessional games.
