Basic extremely low with very long working hours. No kitchen facilities in the building with an expensive canteen. Place little value on staff

I was employed as a Sales Director with a remit of revamping an under performing sales team. I had four interviews prior to joining the business and in each one I clearly set out a structure that I would implement with the Publisher. I joined the business, within my first two days I was told to forget about everything that was discussed, concentrate on making 80 new business sales calls a day like the other Directors and manage my team by essentially shouting at them to do more. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a grim place to work - You cant sit down, have to stand up all day to make calls, no fridge or cooking facilities, overpriced cafe offering unhealthy food, set breaks, unrealistic targets, no metrics to measure the products - everything was made up, clients lied to constantly. Everything said at interview was a lie, I don't understand the thought process of doing this - Better to be transparent about the culture and expectations although I guess very few people would join.
