Pros

Decent salary and benefits. Immediate team members were mostly helpful.

Cons

Company is divided culturally and geographically. Each site runs things according to their own cultural ideals and norms. Only if forced to assimilate by upper executives will the various sites do things for the collective good of the company. As far as Malta, NY goes, GF is basically a foreign entity, hiring mostly foreign engineers. Sure they hire some locals for administrative and service positions, but overall it's loaded with recent graduates from foreign countries. Being in IT I noticed a lack of respect for the computer equipment and security responsibilities that go along with being given the privilege to access a corporate network with a corporate provided asset. Also, was not pleased with the way GF pulled out of their commitment to the Alliance, specifically at IBM Fishkill, forcing mass relocation on hundreds of employees. IBM is not the easiest company to get along with, but that's what you have to deal with if you get involved with them.

Pros

Good compensation & benefits Nice building

Cons

Culture is not people oriented Management are puppets for ATIC promising the world without a clue on how to deliver. Too much politics. Fear that ATIC will starve company of needed financial resources.

Pros

Good opportunities to grow and learn new skills, they will let you do anything.

Cons

I think they left the door open on interview day, the place is full of idiots. Upper management don't have clue how to run things. They run TD like its manufacturing because that all they know how to do. Way way way too many mangers, many people have been promoted for installing mangers underneath them. Empire building is defiantly rewarded. Not enough of the senior people get their hands dirty. q
