Pros

I have been working at GF for almost 4 yrs now, and have seen it improve slowly only because customers demand quality. The management still doesn't listen to the staff, and don't take Iinput from people who are working in the field. No more raises starting next year, and they don't reward those who continuously improve processes only brown Noser's. The health insurance premiums went up this year, used to be better.

Cons

Health Insurance premiums escalated, no management recognition, raises are based on you being part of the good old boys club, and if you are a woman, then you don't get promoted and they give you average ratings so your raise is minimal.

Pros

There are ample opportunities for people who are inexperienced. If you are a recent grad with no better alternatives or are for whatever reason committed to semiconductors, this place may make sense for you.

Cons

They are well documented here. The Malta site has had a tumultuous history. The company doesn't appear to value its employees, only invests in assets it can flaunt, has major problems with employee retention and no clear path to success. There has always been a lack of defined business processes, relevant training plans, fair performance review policies, and modern systems. There was a dream that was Globalfoundries ... And it was never realized.

Pros

Help Desk is really helpful.

Cons

1. It took 3 months to get a badge. Every morning I had to ask the receptionist to ping one of my colleagues to come escort me in since I am not allowed to go in unless someone does even when I have a guest pass. 2. Access to environments on the computer took 2 months. 3. Manager does not give a damn about contractors. He/She is all ready to throw the blame on the vendor. For 2 months he showed his face 4 times and only because I bothered him to get me access. 4. Not enough knowledge transfer before assigning tasks. 5. Place is full of Indian contractors from India following that Indian way of working environment. 6. One team has contractors from more than one vendor for one project which became a huge problem for me since I had to deal with a person sitting in Singapore who wasn't so cooperative. 7. No team work! When you seek help from a team member from another team, he/she says "if i help you my manager will not like it."
