Terrible management and above

Pros

Some positions are work from home but VERY micromanaged

Cons

Very political and mean girl status. Constantly walking on egg shells and afraid you will be fired any day no matter how great of a performer you are. Management fires people so they can hire friends/family. Salary is NOT competitive for back office. Such a toxic work environment your mental health suffers significantly. HR employees are such “mean girls” they purposely make employees cry, gas light them and then laugh about the employees in meetings later. There is no such thing as work life balance. They want you to live, breath and eat Golden1. Good luck trying to get a time off request approved! Salary employees are treated like work slaves. Expected to work excessive amounts of hours with near impossible deadlines. And no matter how great your work is, they will find a way to pick you and your work apart. A great way to describe their behavior is very narcissistic.

Did Not Meet Expectations

Pros

Most colleagues tend to be easy to work with, friendly, and collaborative. Employee perks and benefits are good, and the compensation is competitive.

Cons

Zero training and an expectation that you will just pick it up, while being held accountable if you don’t. Multiple bad apple employees that negatively affecting the workplace culture, and it seems that HR is incapable of addressing the issue. The employment contract stipulates 24/7/365 availability for employees without an on-call policy addressing flexible hours, rotations, or compensation. Expectations are to put in whatever time is needed to meet deadlines even if that means night and weekend hours. The employee contribution for healthcare benefits for spouse and dependents is remarkably high. The hybrid policy for managers requires them to work from a largely unoccupied office while interacting with remote workers on teams. Management seems excessively responsive to the whims of executives, and the organizational culture seems centered around appeasing the executives. Low-level managers are always blamed by leaders above.

RUN. Don't walk.

Pros

Whatever I could list here, it wouldn't outweigh the cons.

Cons

I'd rather work at Chernobyl, it'd be LESS toxic and threat to my health (physical and mental). Executive Management's leadership skills are at best, once present and currently atrophied, at worse (and most likely) never existed in the first place. Leadership (from SVP up to CEO) lacks self awareness, accountability, instead takes pride (it seems) in pointing fingers and naming scapegoats. VPs and below are required to take it in the ... expected to be blamed and "leave if we don't like it". (and we are)
