Depends on group but certain corporate groups have poor morale, work quality all over the place, not much teamwork, no mentorship, basically very few of the things that make a job / biglaw job satisfying. Technology is outdated. Firm is cheap and lean. You’re on an island. Constant hiring, firing and people leaving resulting in a revolving door. Some groups have work to support the constant hiring, others don’t. Have never seen a lateral integrate.

Management has been laser-focused on increasing revenue YoY by double digits and has ignored its serious morale problem. Management panicked in April when COVID hit and immediately laid off 60+ members of its prof. staff and several lawyers rather than exploring other cost-saving options like nearly all their competitors did. Laying off staff during a pandemic is just cruel. Goodwin will — rightly — suffer a reputational hit from that lapse of judgment.
