Pros

Flexible hours are great. Pay is just “OK” Experience in commercial tires industry. Potential growth, if willing to relocate.

Cons

Inconsistent policy enforced. Too much of “sweep under the rug and hopefully it will go away.” HR supporting employees who are combative and insubordinate and no support for management who wants to enforce corrective actions when it needs to be presented to insubordinate employees. Toxic environment in centers is outrageously unhealthy. Regardless of what policies are outlined and quoted in Goodyears Ethics Policy, retaliatory actions happens and upper management looks the other way as long it doesn’t negatively impact them. Those in management positions, give themselves the easier job duties while those who are in the bottom of the totem pole are the individuals who are never credited for making the center run and making it successful. Salaried Managers who work bankers hours while those who care about the customer and making sure they obtain quality service, are present every day and always on time. Management like to point fingers when they are the blame for failing a customer’s expectations and never take ownership. If you’re a candidate who can deal with a toxic environment, by all means Goodyear is your ideal place to work. Its a revolving door for the loyal employees to leave and seek employment opportunities with other companies who do not consider their employees as just a number, but value the employee(s) for all their hard work, loyalty and passion.

Pros

Good salary, decent benefits, great coworkers

Cons

Extremely unprofessional work environment. Upper Management would often use profanity and threaten employees creating a hostile work environment. Extremely political environment. Incompetent, uneducated managers are often promoted over qualified, educated managers, who are then assigned the former’s work assignments. There are zero opportunities for advancement. Managers will promise promotions to deter you from looking for other opportunities. HR is not respected; therefore, unable to provide strategic support. There Is no engagement strategy with the plant. HR Specialists are responsible for up to 500 associates, resulting in an excessive workload. They are also responsible for auditing bathrooms and making sure they are cleaned. Not a typical HR responsibility. Racism is prevalent within the organization but ignored when reported. There’s no work life balance. Weekend work is expected and you may be on call.
