Pros

Starting pay and benefits are good.

Cons

No advancement. Harassment. Favoritism. Constant change for the sake of change.

Pros

Forward thinking, transparent, good benefit package.

Cons

Believe in development and growth, offer tools and resources, but people are so maxed out in current roles that it's hard to network and pursue other opportunities to grow. Work/Life balance has become out of whack - expectations are unrealistic unless you find working 60-70 hours a week balanced.

Pros

Beautiful corporate environment in Lake Forest. Great people. Very smart and generally collaborative. I was glad to gain experience here. It has greatly helped to build my professional network. The name Grainger still has a lot of cache in the Chicagoland marketplace.

Cons

Continual downsizing and reorganization creates the perception that there is no firm management strategy. Morale is low. Benefits are being stripped away rapidly and raises have been almost non-existent for years. Although separation packages are fair, there a lot of newly displaced Grainger employees in the workforce. This is going to begin to affect the organization overall.
