Pros

Work/life balance is good (Depends on your manager!) PTO and profit sharing is generous and better than most Fortune 500s

Cons

Talent will at times go unnoticed by mid-level management for career advancement Grainger could trim the fat...too many positions exist that are unnecessary Grainger management will over-complicate the sales process....its MRO people... we aren't selling rocket ships and space stations.

Pros

Long-time market leader. Outstanding reputation as a supplier, partner, employer. Sincere desire to improve employee engagement and increase productivity.

Cons

Loyal baby-boomer customer is retiring. Competitive environment is changing with non-traditional market entrants taking share. Grainger must address its relevance and value. Unfortunately quick fixes and check-the-box solves prevail. Organization has tendency to default to tenure over capability. While organization is sincere to improve employee engagement and productivity, its overly cautious/conservative nature becomes a business risk.
