Pros

20+ Year Employee. Has been fantastic to me and my family. I have had much opportunity to advance in a variety of roles. Top Brand with our customers, which makes it easy to do our jobs. Great opportunity long term, as MRO market is highly fragmented and companies like Grainger are in position to benefit on customer's efforts to consolidate.

Cons

The Grainger way is the Grainger way. Self awareness is improving at the leadership level, but they can be slow to change, and heavy handed when they do change. Company is HQ in the Midwest, so values can be out of sync with the coasts. Lack of geographic compensation differential is an example. Increasing price transparency via on line vendors is forcing pressure on Grainger's tiffany price model.

Pros

Great work life balance. Competitive commission package. Great brand recognition in the market. You will receive a company car, cell phone and a competive profit sharing package

Cons

There is no cost of living adjustment based off of location. Employees in major cities find that the salary is not very competitive. TSR position not respected internally. There is a haze to be promoted within.
