Great company going through tough change

Pros

AGI is making great strides toward becoming a high-involvement, inclusive culture. I'm in a leadership role and I feel really good about the leaders I work with, and the new senior leadership is very strong. AGI believes in developing people and encouraging growth, and while their efforts to do that are a bit amateurish right now, it's an exciting place to be. Compensation is strong, AGI believes in paying well for the right talent.

Cons

AGI is in the midst of a giant re-org that unfortunately resulted in a lot of job losses, and all senior leadership went to the American parent company Grainger. It means there's little room for advancement for the near future.

Pros

Once a very good company to work for.

Cons

Poor upper management making decisions on how produce is sold instead of industrial equipment and supplies.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re not quite clear on the reference to produce. Our focus is, and always has been, on providing customers with an effortless experience. Today, that means investing in e-commerce and direct-to-customer delivery. The improvement in the company’s financial performance throughout 2017, and particularly in Q4, is a good indication these changes are having the desired effect.

Pros

Great people, work-life balance, opened the doors to so many opportunities that it out weighs all the cons, truely had an amazing experience with the company and was extremely difficult to leave until I realized even better opportunities. Work for Acklands Grainger was definitely the best career move I made.

Cons

-uncertain of company direction, slow processes, run by Americans who don't know our market. Company unable to roll out new compensation package for sellers. Lots of organizational changes reduced many of the management jobs abover field sellers so advancement is more difficult these days.
