Pros

You can make decent cash ($70K - $90K). There are 3 levels in the sales organization. Sales culture has a good rep in the business community.

Cons

Management is bloated. Tons of service challenges. Strategic focus shifts monthly. Budget can and will be adjusted if you're doing too well. Culture of executive worship and fear. Lack of tools for sellers. Budget is 6 month periods (Jan-June/July-Dec), but you usually get your number in Feb and Aug.

Not the worst?!

Pros

They pay in the upper percentile for new blood.

Cons

Once your in, because they paid more at first, you're hard pressed to find a similar skill set elsewhere that pays the same. And if you get a big responsibility jump, they bump you at 7-10% increments for a bit, and you never get the big pay jump you should have received.

Pros

Great distribution Solid customer base Diverse product mix

Cons

Goals are set every 6 months (perhaps as a method to control cost of sales?) Goals are unrealistic (double digit growth expected year after year till you fail) Reviews are based on check the box activities Territories are static and not reviewed effectively by management
