Dead End with little benefits

Pros

It's not a very hard job. Compensation is slightly above average.

Cons

They cut employee benefits several times since I've been here most of those benefits affected people who had been with the company more than 5 years. The pay is slightly above average which creates a mentaility in the more senior employees that they are either "Too old to get a new job" or "I wont make any more than I'm making now." Working on part time hours makes it hard to get by and the schedule is not very flexible so it's difficult to find a second job.

Little to no work/life balance

Business Outlook

Pros

Competitive pay and benefits package.

Cons

Work/Life Balance. In my time with Grainger, there as been constant mandatory overtime. Over the past year and a half I average 50+ hours a week. While OT can be nice on occasion, if you ever make plans on off days or after your scheduled time off be prepared that you will likely be required to work. Grainger also will not notify you that you need to work OT until you near the end of your shift. You will be expected to stay until the work is done. Regardless of what time your schedule says.
