Great start to career, but the luster has diminished...

Pros

Highly talented people and a complex business that can offer a lot of opportunity and experience. It was a great start early in my career and learned a lot to help me develop. The benefits are great despite recent reductions and the individual contributor population is awesome.

Cons

Leadership is definitely lacking - they don't cherish hard work, but instead who you know and the politics that go with it. Only certain people continue to move and the people in leadership at the mid-level are awful. Career advancement is almost impossible despite scoring high on reviews and in ratings. Development feedback is good, but sometimes it is the only thing you get with little praise or thank you on the big wins. There are too many reorgs as they have no clue what direction to go in and turnover is high. Tenured folks are under appreciated which is a shame as that was a staple in the business years ago.

Pros

Benefits package was good until I turned 50 then they figured out a way to get rid of me. Good experience really prepares you for anything after you work for them.

Cons

Work/Life Balance? Nonexistent. Nepetism in the higher management and they do it with no apologies. If you don't fall into their click they rid themselves of you. They keep the worst managment because its too expensive to get rid of them.

Pros

There is nothing positive about this company.

Cons

Very big brother. Can’t trust anyone. Company withholds earned pay. Management are clones of each other. The want everyone drinking the Grainger cool aid. Heaven forbid amyone think for themselves. This is severely frowned upon. Management’s aporoach to coaching is to threaten employees.
