Pros

Promote heavily within. Good for employees who already work within company.

Cons

Specifically at corporate, the company was much more employee-centric in the past. Environment has become very political. Company promotes those that are well connected and are viewed in a favorable light by leadership. How a leader leads has very little barring so you could show some strategic value but be a very poor people leader and the company will promote you. This becomes an issue because employees lack trust that their managers are just using them as a stepping stone to move into bigger roles.

Pros

Great people in terms of co-workers. Flexible vacation policy for salaried workers.

Cons

Way too much change in too short of a time. Treating employees as if their contributions and progress are not important or significant. Talking down to employees. Doesn't treat employees equitably. Has become extremely political.

Pros

All the positive posts here about how "great" Grainger is seem to be from their recruitment team. I've talked to hundreds of employees during my time. It's NOT good! People are leaving in DROVES! There's a myriad of reasons why! Take the good posts as more like "Alternative posts" read between the lines!

Cons

Take the time to read the negative reviews you will see reoccurring themes! These aren't a lie or exaggerated or disgruntled employees trying to get even! They're posting the truth! *** Part time employees have now had their breaks taken away*** They keep you just under the hours needed that allows you to take breaks. *** It's also common practice for them to keep part timers just under 20 hours a week so you can't receive any of the benefits***
