Pros

Nice location this side of 17. Great mexican food near by and views of the ocean on commute to Santa Cruz.

Cons

Finance management are all partially retired from an engagement standpoint. No insight or concern for rank and file staff. As long as they can assign the workload downward they can make it to little league by 5. Zero training, zero mobility and no attempt to foster growth among younger associates. CEO not held accountable for years of flat stock price and lack of vision to change it.

Pros

Granite use to be for the workers and there Families.when i came to Granite to work i was a labor when i let go i was a foreman of 10 years, because i was a straight shooter i was replaced by a 2 year foreman in my field. It use to be how hard you worked and got things done it is not that way now.If you are not in with the right crowd you are done when They are done using you. Granite USE to be the place to be the 90s were great ever the first part of 2000.

Cons

Management is a good old boy network, Carrier opportunities are giving to them that in with the boys not by management skill not there performance or contribution. I have seen good people passed by to allow others that cost the company in the end. Management is so hung up in them self they run over the workers

Pros

Great core values and a good reputation within the industry. A very ethical company. Benefits packages are good. It's a good place to start your career to get some experience if you're fresh out of college.

Cons

Compensation is below average in comparison to the competition and the hours put in. Work/Life balance is not at all balanced. Upper management is afraid to make decisions. Reorganization of the company structure has happened numerous times in the last 3 years, it's hard to follow.
