Pros

You get to meet some great people.

Cons

Working at Granite has been the most mentally exhausting experience. Our team lost many people in the span of a year and management refused to replace them instead they gave us more work load and offered over time so that we could keep up with the work load, which is unacceptable and undoable if you want to balance family and work life. When people spoke up about how unfair this was management told us to suck it up or leave if we did not like it. The director of our team behaved like a child that didn't get their way and refused to have actual conversations with the employees. Instead the director chose to give us the cold shoulder and pretend we did not exist, if people had thick accents she would talk down to them, cut them off mid sentence and treated them rudely. This behavior was reported to HR multiple times but nothing really got done, which has made the employees feel unheard and uncared for. Many of us felt like upper management was protecting this person because the have 10+ years with the company and know the right people. There was also no room for growth in our team, the work load was so high that even if you did try to work towards a promotion the goals were unattainable unless you did put overtime in. So they pretty much made you choose between family or work if you wanted to "grow" within the team.

Thank you for sharing your detailed and candid feedback. We are deeply sorry to hear about your experience and the challenges you faced while working at Granite. It's concerning to hear about the issues with workload, lack of replacement for team members, and the difficulties in balancing work and personal life. We understand that this situation is unsustainable and deeply regret that it has caused such stress and frustration. The behavior you described from the director of your team is unacceptable and does not align with our values. Respectful and open communication is crucial, and it's alarming to hear that reported issues were not addressed appropriately by HR. We take these allegations very seriously and will be investigating this matter further to ensure that all employees are treated with respect and fairness. Your feedback regarding the lack of growth opportunities and the unrealistic demands for achieving promotions is also important. We recognize the need to create a more supportive environment where employees can thrive without compromising their personal lives. We appreciate your advice to management. We are committed to making the necessary changes to improve our workplace culture, including hiring directors and managers who respect and support their teams, and ensuring that all employee concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. Thank you again for bringing these issues to our attention. We value your input and are dedicated to making meaningful improvements.

Pros

Met some of the most amazing people here. 24/7 gym

Cons

The workoverload is unbearable. The expectations were impossible to achieve. The amount of stress caused by being severely understaffed was not even close to worth the hourly rate.
