Pros

Stock Options / Profit Sharing/ Nice customers

Cons

Very old school iapproach to business / technology Favoritism / limited advancement opportunities even for top contributors Low pay I worked in two different branches and my experience was night & day. At the first branch I worked in, I was a top performer for over 5 years (even rec’d Cause for Applause recognition) but was never promoted to next grade level of that position. I was always praised by mgmt and customers but never advanced. That left me very frustrated and I witnessed first hand that advancement opportunities are very limited and largely political. Also, it’s my practice to keep my religious and political beliefs to myself at work. I do not discuss them. Due to the fact I kept quiet, I was wrongly accused of being a socialist by not only my manager but some fellow co-workers. They tried to play if off as a joke, but it wasn’t funny and was highly inappropriate. I could have - should have - escalated to corporate and sued. Blatant harassment. I transferred to another branch office and got “screwed” in the process by an inept HR person at district who omitted key details of the transfer/position that could have influenced my decision. The transfer was so mis-handled, that corporate in St Louis had to get involved. I found other employment months after the transfer just so I could survive financially. I am also entitled to a pension, but Graybar corporate HR expects me to chase down the union to try to lay claim to it. - even though my tenure at unionized office was so brief, I wasn’t officially a union member. No thanks - you can keep that $60/mo pension payment. Shame on you, corporate HR for not assisting me with getting the pension I rightfully earned.

Pros

Constant growth, change, and upward momentum. Working for this company has helped develop my professional business skills as well as my personal life skills because of the constant challenge to raise the bar and strive for better systems/services.This is by far the most employee friendly company that I have worked in. Professional, hard working, top notch employees.

Cons

Nothing to speak of yet.

Pros

Free daily parking Resume builder

Cons

Calling on 500-1,000+ businesses across several states (that have done little to no business with the company and in most cases have never heard of it), only to then turn over the top accounts that you build up to outside reps. $35k starting salary, commissions come from sales but the “zeros to heroes” accounts get reassigned to outside sales representatives after they start purchasing a certain amount. No team comradery as turnover is extremely high. Promotion to outside sales entails starting completely over with new accounts and tossing established business away, only to start at same $35k salary & rebuilding business to try to start earning commissions again.
