The "higher-ups" at Metro are very disconnected from the needs of individual branches. They used to be there to help serve us and make sure our needs at each branch were met. But it has evolved to us doing everything we can to please or impress them with very little help, support, encouragement, and acknowledgment on their end- instead we are receiving criticism, and empty promises. They claim to want to help power your purpose or help grow your career at the Y, but I can tell you from first-hand experience this is not the case. They do not value their employees on the ground who are directly interacting with and impacting the clientele. We are all disposable and easily replaceable. Don't even think about asking for a raise or promotion. It won't happen.
