Great product, poor management

Pros

Benefits are ok. Interesting company for a fresh engineer. The product is interesting and related to high engineered markets. But do not stay over than 3 years here!

Cons

HR runs (or ruins) the show, without the slightest idea of the business and markets. Management lives in their own bubble, totally detached from their employees and customers. You sum the above cons and you end up in a careless culture.

Nice compensation and benefits, consistent focus on continuous improvement

Cons

HR makes decisions regarding all hirings and firings, not the managers of the department. You are only as good as your last mistake. Strong culture of finger pointing and blame. GT hires mostly engineers/ black belts even though they don't have an ounce of management skills or experience. We now have a company full of management with no emotional intelligence or people skills of any kind. GT lets the hard-working people with experience and knowledge go, and they bring in new people that have no idea what they are doing. Creates a dynamic of distrust, frustration, and contention.

Pros

Great place for learning as long as that is your goal. Unfortunately, they keep learning the same lessons over and over again.

Cons

They are in serious trouble and management is disingenuous with employees. They rarely learn from their mistakes and lessons don't transcend their four main businesses. They have a lot of trouble successfully executing projects. There is a lot of us vs them outside HQ in Kulpsville.
