Pros

Good benefits. A lot of great team members. Great discounts with different vendors and within Greystar. A lot of resources through their portal to reference for help and learning.

Cons

Greystar is so big that they forget to care about their good employees. Exit interviews are non existent. Regional managers get away with everything as no one is asking for employee reviews nor reading the performance reviews that they complete. HR is a joke even when providing HR with facts regarding harassment/ regionals not following the Greystar Manual. They will always protect horrible regional managers even if the property is running well or not following proper procedures. DO NOT TRUST THE MANUAL. They push their values; however they do not follow their values. I wish that all terminations would be properly reviewed outside of HR. Being someone that was never written up and with perfect performance plans, someone should be asking questions as to why the termination took place.

Thank you for your feedback. Team member issues are taken very seriously and are evaluated by the Talent Management group and the appropriate leadership then discussed with team members involved to ensure the most fair resolution for all. Your feedback prompted further review of recent team member separations and the related process. Thank you. Jill Welborn Managing Director, Real Estate

Great company but toxic culture

Pros

Greystar is a great company with a clear vision. There are opportunities for growth. Really good benefits. Knowledgeable colleagues and beautiful properties. Pay is decent and commission structure is decent.

Cons

The culture is toxic. Unfortunately, this is due to leadership or the lack there of. Corporate leaders want you to suck up and be their best friend to get ahead. As long as you look the part and act accordingly then there is promise for advancement. Owners will always win even if they treat employees like crap. Diversity is very lackluster. The corporate office in my division was minimal with diversity inclusion and they hardly promoted minorities. The work/life balance can be challenging as well but that is based on property and the individual. HR also can’t be trusted as they will cover and protect senior leadership and corporate employees before helping site level employees who file sexual harassment claims.
