Great place to work, with one exception

Pros

Grow Financial really does display the "team" environment across all departments (see cons for the one exception). Grow Financial team members care about the communities they serve, the credit union is big on sponsorships and the Tampa Bay area. The benefits are pretty great - they'll give you 2% in your 401k and match you up to 6% so you have the potential of receiving 8% from the credit union. They also pay for your short term disability so if you go on maternity leave, that's a wonderful benefit. Health care costs are average.

Cons

The c-suite is very unaware of the important issues affecting the departments individually and the issues affecting the relationships between departments. The board doesn't showcase a breadth of diversity. The way they calculate bonuses and raises isn't really fair. One "bad egg" department (Marketing) affects the whole of the credit union. This is one department that could use some drastic management changes.

Pros

Manager shares advice on what training to take internally and externally to help you grow. Good benefits and pay, to include tuition reimbursement up to $2500 per year, great 401k match.

Cons

Tuition reimbursement could be higher for full time team members maybe have an increasing availability based on tenure say more than 5 years. Although, Im not part time I know part time team members don't get benefits directly other than pay and time off.

Pros

Benefits and 401k package through third parties, one formerly being Aflac. Nice corporate building with amenities. Corporate looks like a comfortable place to work at.

Cons

Management being no help. Either leaving for vacation too often, favoring one employee over others for outside work events, not listening to employee needs. Company moving towards commercial lending and cutting out a good portion of members for loans by restricting lower than C credit scores for vehicles. I felt I was not valued as an employee and coworker but was just another expendable number.
