Overall Great Place To Work

Pros

The culture is amazing, very casual while still maintaining a high standards. It's more like family and friends working towards a difficult goal that you actually feel apart of rather than your typical office environment of not really feeling connected to company goals. The culture inspires you to want to do great! Opportunities are nearly endless, one of the companies unofficial motto's is "If you want a job, go get it." Hard work is expected but it doesn't feel like hard work in the traditional sense.

Cons

Leadership is not without it's faults, most are young leaders with good intentions and some, but not a lot of experience leading people. (Not necessarily a con, we're VERY fast moving and a lot of people are given opportunities to lead when they wouldn't have the chance at another company for at least 5 years) At times it feels almost too much like the military, the "Hey you, come here. You're doing this now..." that Veterans are familiar with pops up now and then. Lots of meetings that sometimes feel redundant. Communication isn't always the best, sometimes the information flow gets clogged up and people don't know what they are supposed to.

Pros

Pride, hard work, opportunities, growth are some of the qualities Gruntstyle offers. Is it like any other production company....NO, do they pander to people who won't work hard for their paycheck...NO. They give you a job possibly an possibly a career that you will have to WORK every day not just when you feel like it. Do you like overtime Gruntstyle gives it? Do they get you Profit sharing yes when you work hard for it and hit goals. Do you get insurance, 401k, free life insurance, gym membership, discounts......still people will always complain There are a few great leaders mainly on second shift. (Shipping and production) Guys who do their best for their teams with what they have. Honestly it is a great place to work but like EVERY COMPANY it has issues and improvements to make. But if you want to make something you can feel proud of, work at Grunt style!

Cons

Some Leaders are poorly trained and that leaves employees angry and confused on what the mission is. Unmotivated, unqualified, lazy leaders are running rampant and no consequences are given for mistakes or negligence. Promoting people because of "CLICKS" is a real thing here and managers need to see this trend. Leaders need to be qualified, and really earn their way, we have a leader that has been here for years and constantly passed up by guys he trained. He is an amazing leader and extremely knowledgeable but since he doesn't fit in the click he gets passed over. Why he stays is beyond me sometimes.

Grunt Style Response

Thank you for the feedback. We try out best to promote from within where reasonable and we believe we have curbed a lot of the nepotism, and continue to do so, with the reports from years past. Since the time of this posting we have implemented a more formalized process to identify and recognize those individuals who may be good for higher up positions.
